Abstract

This abstract book contains the summaries of oral presentations presented at national and international levels at the 12th Kalkan International Symposium on Human Horizons/8th International Festival of Post-Contemporary Art, held at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University on December 10-12, 2025, with the themes of humanism, education, and artificial intelligence. The main objective of the symposium is to address the interaction of human-centered approaches with artificial intelligence technology and to evaluate the transformations occurring, particularly in the field of education, from a multidimensional perspective. This book is an important academic resource that brings together current scientific discussions on humanism, education, and artificial intelligence. The research included in this book reveal how humanist thought, which centers on the value of the individual, is being reshaped by artificial intelligence technologies and integrated into educational processes. Enriched by contributions from researchers from different disciplines, this book contributes to the literature by offering both theoretical discussions and practical suggestions. Ethical aspects of artificial intelligence applications in education, their effects on learning and teaching processes, and their compatibility with a human-centered approach to education are among the prominent topics. Undoubtedly, on the cusp of the digital age, the understanding of education is undergoing a radical transformation. As artificial intelligence technologies reshape learning processes, maintaining a human-centered approach is more vital than ever. A technological understanding blended with humanist values is only possible through critical thinking and an ethically based education. In this context, the symposium invited educators, researchers, students, and all stakeholders in the field to reflect together on an educational process centered on humanity and artificial intelligence.
