1. Who Can Apply?
Pen Academic welcomes book proposals from scholars actively engaged in academic research and knowledge production. Applications may be submitted by university faculty members, researchers holding a doctoral degree, and subject-matter experts with demonstrated academic competence. Edited book proposals may be submitted by academic editors who are capable of assuming full editorial responsibility for the volume. The primary criteria for acceptance are scholarly quality, originality, and potential contribution to the academic literature.
2. Types of Books We Publish

- Edited Book:
Edited books consist of chapters authored by multiple contributors and coordinated by one or more academic editors. Editors are responsible for defining the conceptual framework of the book, coordinating contributors, managing the peer-review process, and ensuring academic coherence across chapters. Edited volumes are particularly suitable for interdisciplinary research areas and emerging scholarly debates. - Single-Author and Co-Authored Books

3. Submission Process
3.1 Book Proposal Submission
Authors and editors wishing to publish with Pen Academic are required to complete the Book Proposal Application Form available on our website. The form collects essential information regarding the book’s academic scope, objectives, structure, target audience, and estimated length. Submitting a clear and comprehensive proposal facilitates an efficient and transparent evaluation process.
3.2 Preliminary Editorial Assessment
All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening conducted by the publisher’s editorial board. This preliminary assessment examines the proposal’s academic relevance, originality, alignment with the publisher’s scope, and compliance with ethical publishing standards. Only proposals that successfully pass this stage proceed to further evaluation.
4. Editorial and Peer-Review Process
Pen Academic applies a structured editorial evaluation model designed to ensure academic quality and integrity. For edited volumes, the peer-review process is conducted under the responsibility of the editor(s), while the publisher oversees and documents the process to ensure compliance with academic standards. For non-edited books, editorial and scholarly evaluations are carried out directly by the publisher.

5. Ethical Principles and Academic Responsibility

7. Publishing Agreement
Upon acceptance of a book proposal, a formal publishing agreement is signed between the author/editor and Pen Academic. This agreement clearly defines copyright arrangements, publication rights, responsibilities of the parties, and ISBN allocation. The publishing agreement serves as the legal and ethical framework governing the publication process.
8. Print, Digital Publishing, and Distribution
Pen Academic books may be published in print, digital (PDF/eBook), or combined formats, depending on the nature of the work and mutual agreement between the author/editor and the publisher. All published books are cataloged in accordance with international publishing standards and prepared to maximize academic visibility and accessibility.
9. Author and Editor Support

Editorial coordination, copyediting guidance, typesetting, cover design, and pre-publication technical checks are managed by the publisher in close collaboration with authors and editors.
