Book of Abstracts of the 8th Anatolian School of Catalysis

On behalf of the Turkish Catalysis Society and the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to present the Book of Abstracts of the 8th Anatolian School of Catalysis (ASC-8), held at Angora Beach Resort, Gümüldür, İzmir, Türkiye, between 23–26 April 2026.

Since its establishment in 2006, the Anatolian School of Catalysis has become a cornerstone educational and scientific activity of the Turkish catalysis community, providing a long-standing platform for advanced training, knowledge exchange, and interaction among researchers from academia and industry. Over the years, the school has continued to bring together graduate students, early-career researchers, and established scientists to promote a deeper understanding of catalytic science and its applications.

The eighth edition of the school continued this tradition by bringing together 98 participants, including 57 graduate students, 27 academic researchers, and 14 representatives from industry, creating a dynamic environment for scientific discussion, learning, and networking. The scientific program featured 21 invited lecturers and consisted of five thematic sessions covering Concepts in Catalysis and Kinetics, Catalyst Preparation and Advanced Characterization, Reaction Engineering, Beyond Thermal Catalysis, and Computational Catalysis: The New Era. In addition, two panel discussions addressed important topics extending beyond scientific knowledge: Ethics, Integrity, and Responsibility in Scientific Publishing and Bridging Academic Research and Industrial Practice. These sessions provided participants with a comprehensive perspective on modern catalysis, from fundamental concepts and emerging research directions to industrial applications and responsible scientific practices.

This abstract book contains 36 poster contributions presented during ASC-8. These contributions highlight the diversity and quality of research activities conducted by the participating young researchers and provide a snapshot of current developments across different areas of catalysis. We hope that this collection will serve as a valuable record of the scientific exchange during the school and inspire future collaborations and innovations.
